Thank you to everyone who helped make the first ever UCO Women’s and Gender Studies Conference a huge success! I have posted pictures from the event, and check back soon for information about the conference proceedings.

AWS will be co-hosting a panel on Domestic Violence with UCO NOW:

Tuesday, November 3 at 6:30 p.m. in Pegasus Theater.

Representatives will be on hand from several organizations, including the Violence Prevention Project and the Oklahoma Coalition Against Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault.

AWS will be hosting a free screening of the film Iron Jawed Angels on Friday, October 9th at 7pm in Pegasus theater. The film portrays the struggle for women’s suffrage in America. AWS will also be registering people to vote at this event.

AWS will be holding two meetings to inform people about our plans for the year, and in particular to get people interested in the Women’s and Gender Studies conference this spring. Please try to attend one of these two informational meetings:

Welcome to the new web home for the University of Central Oklahoma’s Association of Women’s Studies. The site is still under construction, so there may not be much to see at first, but keep checking back for exciting information about our up and coming events. Please feel free to make suggestions- they are always welcome.
